Get to Know Me

I’m Melissa Hannan, an automotive mechanic who has spent 18 years in the industry. I have been qualified for 12 years and a WOF technician for 10 years. I have a huge passion for the automotive scene and imported my 1959 Chevrolet Parkwood 10 years ago, which is my absolute pride and joy. My motivation is to break stigmas, empower women, and help them gain the confidence they deserve with their vehicles. I hope that after this course you will feel empowered, independent, and, most of all, proud when you walk out the door! Keep smashing your goals and remember — 'you can do anything!

What's involved in a
Girls N Gasoline Workshop

Our women’s car maintenance workshops are a fun, hands-on way to learn the basics of vehicle care in a supportive, judgement-free environment.

Each 3.5-hour session covers essential skills like:

  • Checking oil, coolant, air filter, and other fluids

  • Correctly jump-starting a vehicle

  • Changing light bulbs and wiper blades

  • Safely jacking up a car

  • Checking tyre pressures and changing a wheel

During the halfway break, we take time to go over each participant’s specific car, so you can learn directly on your own vehicle and understand its unique layout and features. Don’t worry if you can’t bring a car along — it’s not required. You’ll still get the opportunity to see and learn from a range of different vehicles, which helps build a broader understanding of how various makes and models differ.

You’ll also receive a take-home essentials kit, a reference booklet, and enjoy snacks and refreshments throughout the session.

Cost: $140 per person
Duration: 3.5 hours
Group size: Limited to 8 participants
